The Partners in Prayer program is a method of connecting parishioners who would like the prayer support of other parishioners.
"For Whom or What shall we pray"
Prayer to God is not simply limited to when a person is sick or injured. Rather, it is the ongoing conversation of acknowledging God's presence in every aspect of our life. There are times when we may ask for the prayer support of others for situations such as:
- Prayer for guidance in decisions (i.e. job, school, enlightenment for ethical decisions)
- Prayer for life transitions (i.e. preparing for marriage, a period of pregnancy, grieving the loss of a loved one, preparing to move, mid-life transitions, school changes, etc...)
- Prayer for issues (such as the repeal of the death penalty or specific pending legislation)
- Prayer for help and guidance in dealing with relationships (i.e. family, friends, students, co-workers, etc...)
- Prayer in thanksgiving (for people or events or experiences)

Confidentiality of the Request
The coordinator will keep all requests confidential and share only the information the caller agrees to provide to the prayer partnerThe Partners in Prayer coordinator will also ask the requestor how long they would like the request to be prayed for. If the timeframe is unknown the coordinator will check back with the requestor in 4-6 weeks to see if the prayer partner should continue.
Once the above information is obtained the Partners in Prayer coordinator contacts a prayer partner with the information and the prayer partner begins praying for that petition.
When the request for prayer has been fulfilled the record of the request is destroyed.
Examples
- John Doe and his wife are having marital difficulties. They have started to go to counseling and he would like prayers during that time. He requests that a prayer partner be told to pray for a married couple going through counseling.
- Jane Doe wants prayers for her unborn child, her husband, and herself until the child is born. She wants her name and situation given to the prayer partner.
