The St. Martin Breakfast Program restarts on Sunday, January 30th! The Newman Center and several Churches are coordinating this effort. We are now asking for volunteers to serve as the Newman Core Group to help with this QUARTERLY ministry of serving breakfast to the homeless at St. Martin’s Center. We can begin as early as February. Perhaps the Lord is asking you to consider this Outreach... To find out more about this ministry, please meet with Fr. Tom and others concerned here at Newman on Wednesday, January 5th at 7PM! You will hear details of how the ministry operates.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the Parish Pastoral Council had to remove two of its collegial members. In addition , we have decided to add two new resident parishioner slots onto the Council. The Council will now be composed of five (5) resident parishioners and three (3) student parishioners. Elections for the new and replacement members will commence in the month of January of 2011. OPEN HOUSE! All are welcome to an open house with the Dominican friars after the Masses on January 28th and 29th. The date of the 28th is chosen because the patronal feast of St. Thomas Aquinas (13c). The frlars have been in the priory nearly 2 years now and the residence was elevated from a house to a priory last month. Come and see the living space of the friars - all are welcome!
