My name is Don Contreras. I was ordained to the diaconate on July 12th, 2003 for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, the largest ordination class in U.S. history. I completed my undergraduate studies at UNM, my graduate studies at Georgetown, and my postgraduate Studies at UNM and Georgetown. I find my current employment with the City of Albuquerque a challenging yet learning profession. I enjoy working within the community and at-large. Numerous committees keep me busy on the UNM campus and I find it fulfilling to serve as a Permanent Deacon and former alumni at the University of New Mexico.
I enjoy winter snow skiing, reading, and traveling to foreign countries where I helped with Peace Corps.
My ministry at the UNM Aquinas Newman Center is immensely rewarding for me.
